Not only with sequels... with originals too. Simply when they come "из моего полудетства", there are absolutely no objective criteria to judge them by. They are part of our lives and our identity. "Million alyx roz" will forever be my favorite romantic song. An unfamiliar but objectively similar to it song will be perceived by me as a cheap teenage nonsense. See my point?
